Wheel Course 

Wheel throwing is the process of making cylindrical forms on the pottery wheel. To make finished pieces on the wheel, there are different steps to follow from beginning to end. These steps include wedging the clay, centering on the wheel, pulling up the walls, trimming the pieces, firing, and glazing/surface decoration. 

Wheel Throwing is a unique and physical process that provides an outlet for creativity and self-expression. Students will learn how to make functional ceramic pieces, including but not limited to mugs, bowls, and plates. You will learn the different stages of the wheel throwing process and be instructed to help guide you on making beautiful pieces. 

Hand-building Course 

Hand building is the process of building solely with your hands. Hand building focuses on different techniques, including pinch pots, slabs, and coils. You can make anything from sculptures to functional pieces like mugs or bowls. Unlike Wheel throwing, pieces do not have to be cylindrical. Pieces can be any shape or form; the possibilities are endless! Great for any age and with those that have no experience in ceramics. 

Adult Instruction Class:  Hand-building /Wheel

Our classes are taught by skilled and creative teachers who come here to teach the subject they love—beginner semester to advanced instruction, one class per week for 2.5 hours. Firing fees are additional. 

8weeks semester -----------$400

4weeks semester------------$220

 

Open Studio ----------------$4

Practice time without instruction for Registered adult students enrolled in classes. Firing fees are additional. 

Workspace Potters---------$150 /month

 

Workshop hours are for students who are currently enrolled in a course or are independent artist members. Workshop hours are available if you would like some extra time in the studio outside of your class time. You can work on finishing your pieces from class or create new pieces! There will be no instructor, so that you will work independently on your pieces. For Experienced potters who need a place to work during our Open Studio times. By the month or when space is available. Firing fees are additional.
